Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo Specs Revealed (4S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S)
The Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo specs have been revealed for all model trims which includes the base model, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S. The Taycan GTS Sport Turismo has already been revealed and will be the only model available in the States. It has a starting price of $133,300 and a release date of spring 2022. The other modes in the range will be available in Europe. Their price has not been announced as of yet but they have a release date of this spring as well.
Performance Specs
The base model Taycan Sport Turismo produces specs of 402 horsepower. It comes with rear-wheel drive only and has the Performance Battery Plus with up to 350 kW available as an option. Next up is the Taycan 4S Sport Turismo producing specs of 522 horsepower. It comes with all-wheel drive and has the Performance Battery Plus with up to 420 kW available as an option.
Furthermore, there is the GTS Sport Turismo producing specs of 589 horsepower, the Turbo Sport Turismo with specs of 670 horsepower, and the Turbo S Sport Turismo with 750 horsepower. All three of these models come with all-wheel drive as well.
Efficiency
From a standstill, the Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and its top speed is 161 mph. However, the model with the greatest range is the Taycan 4S Sport Turismo, which stretches to 310 miles based on WLTP figures. In addition, all-wheel drive Sport Turismo models have a particularly efficient drive strategy. Thermal management and charging functions have also been improved. Lastly, both batteries can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 22 minutes and 30 seconds. This means that only five minutes of charging is needed to create a further 62 miles of range.
Design
The Taycan Sport Turismo shares the sporty silhouette, rearward-sloping roof line and functional design of the Taycan Cross Turismo. In contrast to its sibling model, the Taycan Sport Turismo foregoes any off-road design elements. It is also available with rear-wheel drive.
Furthermore, the headroom in the rear is more than 45 mm greater than that of the Taycan sports sedan. An additional 9 mm of height is available above the driver’s seat. The large tailgate also means that the luggage compartment can be accessed with ease. The opening is much longer, at 801 mm, and much higher, at 543 mm, than in the saloon (434 mm and 330 mm respectively).
Luggage
The precise capacity of the rear luggage compartment depends on the included equipment. In combination with the Sound Package Plus, the luggage compartment can hold up to 446 liters (sedan: 407 liters). With the BOSE® Surround Sound System on board (included as standard as of the Taycan Turbo Sport Turismo), it can hold 405 liters. With the rear seats folded down (split-folding 60:40), the capacity can even be expanded to 1,212 or 1,171 liters respectively. That’s also before the 84 liters in the front luggage compartment (frunk) are taken into consideration.
Panoramic Roof
The new panoramic roof with Sunshine Control in the Taycan Sport Turismo has electric glare protection as a special feature. The large glass surface is divided into nine sections that can be individually controlled. This means that specific sections or the entire roof can be made transparent or opaque. When set to the latter, the interior remains flooded with light.
In addition to these Clear and Matt settings, Semi or Bold can also be selected. These are predefined patterns with narrow or wide segments. It even has a dynamic Roller Blind setting, which activates a switching sequence in the individual segments when the Taycan driver slides their finger over an image of the roof in the display.
Remote Park Assist
The Taycan Sport Turismo is also cutting edge in terms of comfort, safety features and infotainment. With the optional Remote Park Assist, the driver can remotely control entering and leaving a parking space without needing to sit behind the wheel. Automatic control is possible for parallel and perpendicular parking spaces as well as garages. The system automatically detects a space and measures it with the aid of ultrasonic sensors and a camera.
Price and Release Date
As we mentioned above, only the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo will be offered in the States. It has a starting price of $133,300 and a release date of this spring. The other model trims will be available in Europe. Their price has not been announced yet but they have a release date of spring as well.
