Nissan Z Proto
Design
The design of the Nissan Z Proto pays full respect to 50 years of heritage. For example, its bright yellow paint is a tribute to the popular paint scheme on the first generation model and the 300ZX. The shape of the hood and tear-drop LED headlights are also nods to the original model. In addition, the two half-circles featured in the LED headlights hark back to the Japan market-only Nissan 240ZG of the 70’s. The Nissan 400Z rear again takes inspiration from the 300ZX taillights but with a modern interpretation. Lastly, a carbon fiber front lip, side skirts, 19-inch alloy wheels, and dual exhaust complete its striking appearance.
Performance Specs
They revealed some information on the Nissan Z Proto specs but didn’t reveal everything at this time. Nissan stated a twin-turbocharged V6 powers the Z Proto but didn’t state its output. However, the 400Z is expected to have the same engine and specs from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport that produces 400 horsepower. In addition, they did reveal that the Proto engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission. More information will come out closer to an official 400Z release date.
Price and Release Date
Nissan has been producing sports cars for over 50 years and this is just a preview of what’s to come. The Z Proto price and release date are unknown at this time. For comparison, the Infinit Q60 Red Sport has a starting price of $57,150. We can expect the Nissan Z Proto to be a lot less than that. However, as we previously mentioned we will have to wait closer to an official 400Z release date to learn more about the price and specs.
