Mazda CX-60 Price, Specs, and Release Date
The Mazda CX-60 debuts as the brand’s new flagship SUV featuring Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid technology powertrain. The new CX-60 has a starting price of £43,950 in the UK. Unfortunately it will not be sold in the USA. Its hybrid powertrain produces specs of 322 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque making it the most powerful production Mazda ever. The Mazda CX-60 is already currently available to order with a release date in the UK of early autumn. Let’s cover what you need to know below.
Specs
PHEV
The Mazda CX-60 features their first ever PHEV powertrain producing specs of 322 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. As a result, it is the most powerful production Mazda to date. It also boast outstanding environmental credentials. For example, it specs include a WLTP combined fuel consumptions of 188 mph and a WLT combined CO2 emissions of 33g/km.
Furthermore, the Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV offers 39 miles of highway driving on purely electric at speed of 62 mph or less. It also gets 42 miles of EV range in the city. Lastly, power goes to all four wheels via a new eight-speed automatic transmission. As a result, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds.
Engines
The new generation straight-six 3.0-litre e-Skyactiv X petrol and 3.3-litre Skyactiv-D diesel engines will be available on the CX-60 at a later date. They will also feature M Hybrid Boost which is Mazda’s 48V mild hybrid system.
Both engines are mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system as the PHEV. However, they can come in rear-wheel drive only as well.
Price
The Mazda CX-60 comes in three different trim levels: Exclusive-Line, Homura, and Takumi. The CX-60 Exclusive-Line is the entry level trim and has a starting price of £43,950. In addition, there two option packs available for all there trims: the Convenience Pack and Driver Assistance Pack. However,
there is also a Comfort Pack which is only available for the entry level Exclusive-Line. For an added price, a Panoramic Roof can also be optioned on the Homura and Takumi models. Lastly, the new SUV is available in with different color options including the new Rhodium White premium metallic paint option.
Homura
The Mazda CX-60 Homura has a starting price of £46,700. It is visually distinguishable from the base model thanks to body colored wheel arches, a dark plated grille surround, gloss black mirrors and grille, and 20-inch black alloy wheels.
The interior of the Homura trim features seat heating for the rear seats as well as ambient lighting. It is also equipped with the ground-breaking Mazda Driver Personalization System that can recognize the driver via facial recognition. As a result, it can automatically adjust the seat position, steering wheel, mirrors, head-up display, sound, and climate controls to the drivers personal preferences.
Takumi
The Mazda CX-60 Takumi is the top of the range trim with a starting price of £48,050. It also features 20-inch black wheels, body-colored mirrors, a chrome grille surround and window trim, and a. gloss black radiator grille design.
Convenience Package
The Convenience Package adds £1,000 to the price of the CX-60. It can be optioned on all three trim levels and features privacy glass, a 360 view monitor, and wireless phone charging.
Driver Assistance Package
The Driver Assistance Packages costs and extra £1,100 and adds a large suite of Mazda’s active safety technology.
Comfort Package
The Comfort Package has a price of £1.400 and is only available on the entry level CX-60 Exclusive Live. It adds features such as 20-inch wheels, electric front seats, front seat ventilation, rear seat heaters, and the Mazda Drive Personalization System.
Interior
The interior of the Mazda CX-60 introduces the ideas of Kaichou – an element of disruption which mixes different materials and textures. For instance, the flagship Takumi grade uses materials such as maple wood and nappa leather in combination with Japanese textiles and chrome details.
In addition, the interior shares the same cockpit design found in all Mazda vehicles. For instance, it has a symmetrical layout focused on the driver. Lastly, it also offers 570 liters of boot spaces making the Mazda’s most practical car as well.
