Countach Design
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is instantly recognizable as the elevated descendant of Countach generations. It develops the characteristic lines of the Countach’s five models over nearly 20 years, concentrated into the purest realization of iconic automotive design. For instance, the front end features a front hood with long, low rectangular grille and headlights, and hexagonal wheel arches. The iconic and aerodynamically powerful NACA air intakes also cut into the side and the doors of the Countach LPI 800-4. The hybrid supercar brings back the iconic scissor doors as well.
In the rear, it is immediately recognizable from its distinctive inverted wedge shape. The rear bumper features a lower, sleeker line, and the ‘hexagonita’ design shaping the three-unit rear light clusters. In addition, there are four-strong exhaust tail pipes connected within the carbon fiber rear diffuser. However, there is no fixed rear wing.
Performance Specs
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine producing specs of 770 horsepower. In addition, it has a 48 volt e-motor mounted directly on the gearbox producing specs of 33 horsepower. In combination total out put is 803 horsepower. The e-motor is powered by a supercapacitor providing three times more power compared to a lithium-ion battery of the same weight. This is also the same hybrid powertrain that powers the Lamborghini Sian.
Lightweight
The monocoque chassis and all the body panels in the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 are made from carbon fiber. That allows for the new hybrid Countach to have a dry weight of 3,516 lbs. Visible exterior carbon fiber features are found in the front splitter, around the front window and wing mirrors, the engine hood cover air intakes, and rocker panels. Specific carbon fiber details are found in the interior as well. Furthermore, it has moveable air vents produced by state-of-the-art 3D printing technology and a photocromatic roof which changes from solid to transparent at the push of a button.
Debut
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 unveiled today comes in a dedicated color Bianco Siderale. The color contains a hint of pearlescent blue and is reminiscent of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s own Countach LP 400 S. It comes complete with red and black color leather heritage interior. The interior also takes design cues from the original Countach. For instance, the classic and luxurious interior leather features geometric stitching on the specially designed comfort seats and dashboard
Lastly, the hybrid Countach LPI 800-4 front wheels have 20-inch specs and 21-inch specs in the rear. The wheels are created in the ‘telephone’ style of the 1980s and are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. It comes with carbon ceramic brakes discs as well.
