Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept Specs and Design
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept debuts as a preview of the next generation model featuring a fully electric drive system. It debuts almost a year after the reveal of the A6 Sportback e-tron Concept. The Avant features a beautiful, near production ready design. Audi also claims its specs include a 0-60 mph time of less than 4.0 seconds and a 435 mile driving range. Lets cover everything below.
Specs
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept is powered by two electric motors producing specs of 470 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. As a result, Audi claims it can achieve a 0-60 mph time of less than 4.0 seconds.
It also has an 800 volt system and a charging capacity of 270 kW with a driving range of 435 miles. Lastly, it takes just 10 minutes to charge an extra 186 miles at a fast charging station.
Design
Exterior
The design of the Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept was created in a wind tunnel. As a result, the Avant’s cW value is just 0.24. That means it has minimal aerodynamic drag which results in an extended range. In addition, large 22-inch wheels, a flat cabin, and a sloping roof arch give the classic Avant proportions.
In the front, it features the characteristic Singleframe grille. It is surrounded by deep air intakes that cool the drivetrain, battery, and brakes. In the rear, a rear diffuser and two large air outlets are integrated into the bumper. Lastly, the car is finished in a new shade of gray called Neptune Valley.
Lighting
The new Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept has flat headlights and taillights that are slim and flush. They feature Digital Matrix LED and digital OLED technology that allows for maximum brightness. Three small, high-resolution LED projectors are also built into each side of the body. They activated when the doors open.
Furthermore, high-resolution projectors also display warning symbols on the ground. For example, to warn a bike rider that the car door is about to open. Another four high-resolution LED projectors are integrated into the corners of the vehicle. These generate turn signal projections.
PPE Platform
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept will be built on their new PPE Platform. It is designed exclusively for battery-electric drive systems. As a result, it can take full advantage of all the benefits of this technology. The battery size and wheelbase of PPE vehicles are also scalable. This makes them suitable for use in different market segments.
