2023 BMW M3 Touring Render: What the G81 Wagon Could Look Like
This 2023 BMW M3 Touring render provides a realistic preview of what the upcoming first ever G81 M3 wagon could look like. Obviously, the render is of a modified version of the 2023 BMW M3 Touring. It is lowered with aftermarket wheels and some aerodynamic parts. However, the overall shape and design of the G81 wagon looks to be pretty accurate. The render was created and posted to Instagram by designer @magnus.concepts. The first BMW M3 Touring will debut some time next year.
Performance Specs
The 2023 BMW M3 Touring will be powered the same twin-turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine in the standard M3. In the base model it produces specs of 480 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. However, in the Competition model and it produces specs of 510 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
The base models can achieve a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds and a 0-124 mph time of 13.7 seconds. In comparison, the Competition models can achieve a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds and a 0-124 mph time of 12.5 seconds. Lastly, it is speculated that the G81 M3 wagon will only be available in Competition spec.
Transmission/ Drivetrain
To keep the purists happy the new BMW M3 and M4 base models will be available with a six-speed manual transmission with rear-wheel drive. However, the 2023 BMW M3 Touring might only be available in Competition spec with the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.
In addition, for the first time in the history of the M3 and M4, customers are able to option their cars with the M xDrive all-wheel drive system. The system has different settings that can send a majority or all of the power to the rear wheels. It is possible that the G81 wagon will only come with the M xDrive all-wheel drive system.
Suspension
Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers should come standard on the 2023 BMW M3 Touring. In addition, they have the M-specific integrated braking system which presents the driver with two different brake response and pedal feel settings. Also, a limited-slip differential combined with standard M Dynamic Mode allows for controlled drifting. Lastly, the model will come standard with forged M light-alloy wheels. They measure 18 inches in the front and 19 inches in the rear.

The M3 price starts at $70,895 and the M4 is starting at $72,795. In comparison, the M3 Competition will start at $73,795 and the M4 Competition will start at $75,695. We can probably expect the 2023 BMW M3 Touring price to slide in between the M3 Competition and M4 Competition. It will also debut sometime next year with a possible release date of late 2022.
