2022 Subaru BRZ Price Starts at $27,995, Release Date This Fall
The 2022 Subaru BRZ price starts at $27,995 with the second-generation BRZ having a release date of Fall 2021 when it will start to arrive at dealerships. It features a 2.4-liter boxer engine with more powerful specs, precise handling, a new exterior and interior design, and new colors as well. Expect a BRZ STI to debut down the line. However there is already a line of BRZ STI Performance Parts available to upgrade the standard BRZ. On its release date, the 2022 BRZ will be offered in two trim levels, Premium and Limited.
Performance
The 2022 Subaru BRZ is powered by a new 2.4-liter naturally aspirated Subaru Boxer engine with specs of 228 horsepower. The BRZ continues to offer a standard precision-shifting six-speed manual transmission. However, available on both trim levels is a performance-tuned six-speed electronic direct-control automatic transmission with new adaptive control and steering wheel paddle-shift control switches.
In addition, its price includes a list of standard features such as a TORSEN® limited-slip differential, Vehicle Stability Control with Track Mode, 17-inch alloy wheels in dark gray finish, Incline Start Assist, and more. New for 2022, the standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) now allows for two sets of wheels to be ID registered. This allows the owner to switch to seasonal tires without the need of changing the tires on the original wheels.
Chassis
The 2022 Subaru BRZ features a bespoke chassis that takes full advantage of its ultra-low center of gravity, high-strength body structure, and extra horsepower. It has a 101.4-inch wheelbase and a near perfect weight distribution specs making it nimble and easy to control. In addition, the front suspension uses custom Mac-Pierson-type struts and coil springs to keep weight low. In the rear, there’s a double wishbone suspension that provides outstanding bump absorption to enhance tire grip over different surfaces.
Exterior
The exterior of the 2022 Subaru BRZ has a modern, agile, and powerful design with functional aerodynamic details. The coupe is just over an inch longer and almost half an inch lower than its predecessor’s specs. As a result, it has a low and wide frontal area set off by large functional air intakes. In addition, the grille is set low and is complemented by proud fender arches. Also, the roofline features a subtle “double bubble” appearance that’s a nod to vintage racers.
Side Vent
A large side vent incorporates into the front fenders of the 2022 Subaru BRZ. The functional side vent reduces drag by ducting air from under the hood and fenders. The air coming out is directed to a side sill spoiler that creates downforce at speed. A small fin at the back of the rear-wheel arch also assists airflow adding stability at speed. Lastly, the large rear fenders and wider track flow into dual exhausts for a low and wide stance.
Interior
The interior of the all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ puts an even tighter focus on the driver while not sacrificing passenger comfort. Inside, the interior is wrapped in black upholstery with contrasting red stitching on the front seat bolsters, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shifter boot, and parking brake boot. Performance-design front seats with height-adjustable head restraints are also included in its price. However, interior front seats on the Limited trim are upholstered with Ultrasuede® with red leather accents and feature dual-mode seat-heater controls.
Starlink
The 2022 Subaru BRZ also connects occupants to the digital world with a new interior Subaru Starlink® 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment system. It is included in the price of the Premium and Limited trim levels. The system features an Integrated Center Information Display that includes smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, as well as Bluetooth® hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming, rear vision camera, and SiriusXM® services.
Bucket Seats
Keeping in line with its sports car dynamics, the 2022 Subaru BRZ has a low seating position. However, it has excellent sight lines due to the use of high strength steel in the A, B and C – pillars. The interior bucket seats also provide support by having a deep contour and come with red stitching colors. The folding seats and spacious cargo area create a comfortable and practical interior.
Driver Assistance
For the first time on the 2022 Subaru BRZ (equipped with optional automatic transmission) is the award-winning Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking System, Lane Departure and Sway Warning and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. The automatic transmission option also adds High Beam Assist to both trim levels.

The 2022 Subaru BRZ Limited has a starting price of $30,495. Its price includes alloy wheels with 18-inch specs in a matte gray finish, Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 summer tires, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Steering Responsive Headlights, and STARLINK® Safety and Security.
