2022 Kia Forte Release Date End of Year, GT Specs: 201 Horsepower
The 2022 Kia Forte has a release date of the end of the year with the top of the line Forte GT packing specs of 201 horsepower. However, its price has not been announced at the moment. The 2022 Kia Forte features an updated exterior and interior design, sporty performance specs, and enhanced Driver-Assistance Systems. The new Kia Forte and Forte GT will go on sale later this year when they begin to arrive at dealerships. Expect its price to be revealed closer to its release date.
Exterior
The exterior of the 2022 Forte incorporates a new design identity with enhanced styling elements in the front and rear. For instance, it has sleeker, more expressive headlight designs, the next-generation tiger-nose grille, and revised front and rear bumpers. The exterior also features LED fog lights seamlessly integrated into air-intake grille (GT, GT-Line only) and dark metal gray alloy wheel designs in 16-inch and 17-inch specs ((LXS, GT-Line only). Lastly, in the rear there is a new trunk lid spoiler and a sportier LED taillight/rear combination lamp design (GT, GT-Line only).
Interior
The 2022 Kia Forte delivers a modern cabin defined by a driver centric, high-tech interior space. For example, it features a larger 4.2-inch color TFT LCD cluster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included in its price on all trim levels. However, a 10.25-inch wide touchscreen navigation/infotainment is standard on GT and GT-Line and ncludes free MapCare updates.
In addition, the center console features a newly available integrated Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Hold. There is also an available rear USB charger. The Smart Key now features remote start as well. (standard on GT, GT-Line). Lastly, SynTex synthetic leather seating is now available as an option.
Performance Specs
On its release date, the 2022 Kia Forte will still offer two proven engines. The Forte FX, LXS, and GT-Line are powered by a 2.0-liter MPI inline-four cylinder engine producing specs of 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Power goes through an Intelligent Continuously Variable Transmission (IVT). The FE trim also achieves a 41 MPG on the highway.
Furthermore, the top of the range Forte GT is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI inline-four cylinder engine producing specs of 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The engine can come mated with either a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) or a 6-speed manual transmission. The sportier Forte GT also feature a multi-link rear suspension and dual sport-tuned exhaust.
Advanced Driver-Assistance Systemes
The 2022 Forte makes several enhancements to its suite of Kia Drive Wise Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). There are six standard ADAS features and as many as 15 systems in total. A new features to the Forte includes Lane Following Assist (LFA) which comes standard.
However, for an additional price you can also have Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control-Curve (NSCC-C), Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control-Zone (NSCC-Z), and Safe Exit Warning (SEW).
Price and Release Date
As we mentioned above, the 2022 Kia Forte has a release date of later this year when it will begin to arrive at dealerships. The top of the range model will be the Forte GT with 201 horsepower. Expect its official price to be announced closer to its release date.
