2022 Audi A8 Price Starts at €99,500, Release Date December
The 2022 Audi A8 price starts at €99,500 ($115,357.61) in Europe with a release date this December when it will start to arrive at dealerships in European markets. Its official price in the States will be announced shortly and it should have a release date of early next year. The new 2022 Audi A8 features and updated exterior and interior design. The most powerful engine available is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 453 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. However, the high performance S8 produces specs of 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Exterior Design
The 2022 Audi A8 is a sedan that represents status and exudes authority. New design features includes the Singleframe grille that is now wider with chrome angles that increase in size from bottom to top. The side air intakes are more upright and it has freshly restyled as the headlights as well. From a side view the A8 has stretched lines in the body of the car emphasize its length. Wide wheel arches also hint at the standard quattro drive system.
In addition, the rear is dominated by wide chrome clasps, a customizable taillight signature with digital OLEDs, and a continuous, segmented light strip. For the first time Audi is offering customers a new S line exterior package that give it a more distinctive look. Lastly, the new A8 is available in eleven colors such as District green, Firmament blue, Manhatan Gray, and Ultra Blue. There are even five matte colors that include Daytona Gray, Floret Silver, District Green, Terra Gray, and Glacier White.
Digital Matrix LED Headlights
The 2022 Audi A8 features Digital Matrix LED headlights that use DMD technology. Each headlight has approximately 1.3 million micromirrors that break down the light into tiny pixels. This allows it to be controlled with maximum precision. The digital Matrix LED headlights can also generate dynamic coming home/leaving home functions upon unlocking and getting out of the car. They shine like projections on the ground or a wall.
Furthermore, the enhanced A8 comes with digital OLED rear lights included in its price. When ordering the car, there are two rear light signatures to choose from. For instance, when the “dynamic” Audi drive select mode is chosen, the lights change to a wider signature that is only available in that mode.
Interior
The interior of the 2022 Audi A8 has a wide selection of configurations. They include an Audi design selection in the colors pastel silver and the S line interior in the colors black, merlot red, or cognac. Several leather packages and leather equipment from Audi exclusive round out the selection. The optional interior air quality package includes an ionizer and fragrancing as well.
In addition, the range of interior seats and seat equipment in the enhanced A8 is varied, very comfortable, and radiates the highest degree of authority – especially for the back seats. The relaxation seat in the A8 L extended wheelbase is the apex of the program. For an added price, the relaxation seat package includes a back massage with 18 pneumatic cushions, electrically adjustable comfort headrests, an optional continuous center console – also available with optional fold-out tables – four-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning, and the new screens in the rear.
Navigation and Audi Connect
MMI Navigation plus is standard in the enhanced 2022 Audi A8. The MMI touch response operating system in the Audi A8 relies on two displays with 10.1“ and 8.6“ specs and natural voice operation. Passengers just have to say “Hey Audi!” to activate the system. The completely digital Audi virtual cockpit, with the optional head-up display, also completes the display and operating system. Lastly, two new full HD displays with 10.1 inch specs are available for rear passengers for an added price.
Driver Assistance Systems
The driver assistance packages are available for the 2022 Audi A8. This includes the “Park”, “City”, and “Tour” packages. The highlight of the “Park” package is the remote park assist plus, which can automatically maneuver the large sedan into and out of a parallel or bay parking space. The “City” assist package includes intersection assist, cross-traffic assist, side assist, exit warning, and the Audi pre sense 360° safety system, which induces a side crash enhancement in combination with the active suspension.
Lastly, the “Tour” assist package, which is standard in Germany, is particularly comprehensive. Its central system is adaptive cruise assist, which adjusts longitudinal and lateral guidance throughout the vehicle’s speed range. Behind the assistance systems in the Audi A8 is the central driver assistance controller, which continuously calculates a model of the environment.
Performance Specs
There are two engine options available for the 2022 Audi A8. First off, the entry level A8 55 engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 producing specs of 355 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Next up is the A8 60 that is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing specs of 453 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. However, if you opt for the high performance S8 you will get the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine but it produces specs 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Predictive Active Suspension
A highlight of the enhanced 2022 Audi A8 is the predictive active suspension. It can load or unload each wheel with additional power individually via an electric motor. As a result, it can actively regulate the position of the chassis in any driving situation. When dynamic mode is on in the Audi drive select system it firmly turns into corners, the roll angles are small, and the body hardly dips when braking. However, in comfort+ mode it smoothly breezes over unevenness.
Price and Release Date
